The Texas Speed L83 Stage 1 camshaft is a great choice for the enthusiast looking for a jump in horsepower without sacrificing driveability. It will have great drivability and a mild lope at idle, while gaining 58hp over the factory camshaft in TSP's dyno testing. The Stage 1 works well with the stock torque converter and is ideal for making an upgrade while performing a DOD/AFM delete on a daily driver.

This updated V2 version of the TSP Stage 1 L83 camshaft makes more power than the previous design despite having less lift, making life easier on the valve springs and reducing valvetrain noise.

Each Gen 5 L83 camshaft Texas Speed offers will require the use of a phaser limiter kit. The phaser limiter restricts the range of cam timing movement, providing the necessary valve clearance for performance camshafts with added duration and tighter lobe separations.

Please note:

  • The L83 Stage 1 camshaft requires a DOD/AFM lifter delete, and a VVT Phaser limiter block is necessary to maintain proper piston to valve clearance
